Bam and Celeste - A Margaret Cho movie From Kathy Belge, Your Guide to Lesbian Life. Margarte Cho's Movie Guide Rating - Need I say more? If you're a fan of Margaret Cho, you're going to love this tidy film. Margaret Cho plays Celeste, a rebel girl in the 80s who is picked on by the popular kids. Fast forward to present day and she's finally ready for some pay-back.
A fun road-trip movie, Bam Bam and Celeste meet up with the expected homophobic harassers in South Bend, only to be rescued by the town dyke, played by the flawless Jane Lynch (The L Word, Best in Show) in a Daniel Boon fur hat. Wilson Cruz (My so Called Life, Noah's Arc) also makes an appearance as a small town motel attendant and love interest of Bam Bam's. Alan Cummings (The L Word, X-Men) plays a harried studio assistant who takes a liking to Celeste. Feel Good and Laugh Your A@@ off! If you can keep in mind that this is a low-budget film and ignore little things like the actors playing high school kids are in their 30s, then you will enjoy this campy gay-centric film. |
