Margaret Cho Is Beautiful

And so is her stand-up. The Korean American stand-up comedian, actress and singer has been working in television, film and comedy since the mid nineties and has recently started to incorporate music in her stand-up specials.

In her recent DVD release “Beautiful,” Margaret Cho does it again. Her talent for mixing great funny jokes with real issues and making it all funny without ever being too heavy is paramount in this new special and it’s always a welcome day to see Margaret Cho on my TV screen. Does anybody remember the persimmons joke? You know the one where she’s driving down the freeway and needed to… You know… When you gotta go…? Different comedy special. Moving on.

Well with all of that being said, I recommend watching these previews for her new DVD “Beautiful” if you’re unsure on whether you would like to purchase it. Margaret Cho is an inspiration to many Asian Americans and many Americans of different ethnicities with her stories of eating disorders, the damage that it has caused, her activism and support for the gay/lesbian community and her outspoken views on politics and just being herself and the funny that naturally occurs in her life.
