MARGARET CHO’S NEW SHOW, ASSASSIN, TO AIR EXCLUSIVELY ON HERE! NETWORKS

here!, the nation’s first gay and lesbian premium television network, is thrilled to announce that it has inked a deal with the incomparable Margaret Cho to air the television broadcast of her latest concert, Assassin. here! will tape the show live on Saturday, May 14 at the Warner Theater in Washington D.C.. This live concert will have its exclusive world television premiere on here! in September of 2005.

“Margaret Cho and her producing-partner, Karen Taussig, have inspired us by managing their careers with integrity and authenticity. Margaret's comic voice promotes self-esteem, clarity, morality and intelligence. She honors us by providing the over 40 Million here! households access to Assassin, her remarkable and hilarious gift to the GLBT Community
and all independent thinkers. This must see show represents Margaret's best work yet,” said Paul Colichman, CEO and Founder of here! Networks.

Says Ms Taussig, "Margaret and I appreciate Mr. Colichman's commitment to free speech as well as his dedication to providing programming for everyone, not just the SWM 18-35 yr. old demographic. It is a privilege to be a part of the here! family.”

Margaret's experience starring in her own network sit-com was chronicled in her 1999 Off-Broadway, one-woman show, I’m the One That I Want. Following overwhelming success in New York, the show toured extensively throughout the United States and was subsequently made into a film produced and distributed theatrically by her own production company. I'm The One That I Want, the movie, ended up making more money per print than any movie in history. It was also adapted into a best-selling autobiography. This was followed by two more groundbreaking concert tours, Notorious C.H.O. and Revolution, each generating more ticket and DVD sales than it's predecessor: She is now currently on tour with Assassin which will have visited over 40 North American cities, the UK and Australia when it ends this July.

In addition to her busy touring schedule, Cho is in post-production on her first narrative feature film, Bam Bam and Celeste, which she wrote, and stars in with Bruce Daniels. Described by Margaret as a "fag and fag-hag Dumb and Dumber," Bam Bam and Celeste also stars: Alan Cumming, Kathy Najimy, John Cho, Jane Lynch, Wilson Cruz, Elaine Hendrix, Chris Williams, and Danny Hoch. Her second book, "I Have Chosen to
Stay and Fight," published by Penguin Putnam, will be out October 20.

Margaret has lent her name to many causes and also maintains a website dedicated to marriage equality (loveisloveislove.com). In the spring of 2004, Cho headlined “WEDrock” to benefit the Freedom to Marry foundation. In recognition of her unrelenting efforts
in activism, Margaret has been honored by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, ACLU, NOW, GLAAD, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Asian-American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and PFLAG amongst others.

As a performer she has never failed to entertain and engage, and as a human rights activist she has never let her voice be silenced. There is more information on Margaret at margaretcho.com.
