MARGARET CHO
Lost’ Star and Korean-American Comedian Bond

A short film directed by a Korean-American Margaret Cho and starting popular Korean actress Kim Yun-jin of ``Lost’’, will soon meet the audience.
Cho, a popular stand-up comedian based in California, recently finished filming ``Two Sisters,’’ a tale of sisters who make amends in their relationship taking belly dancing classes. Actress Kim stars in the film along with Tamlyn Tomita, a Japanese-born American actress.

Kim, who has a sizeable fan base in Korea since debuting in a local TV drama in 1996, shot to global stardom after starring in the hit U.S. TV drama series ``Lost.’’ The bilingual actress is currently based in the United States.

``I liked the scenario because while it was about girls in the United States, it was a tale of ordinary sisters, not just `Asians,’’’ Kim was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.

Initially Kim’s tight schedule with ``Lost’’ made it difficult to accept the offer from Cho, who is a versatile actor, writer, business woman and now a director. But apparently their female bond and Korean roots made the cooperation possible.

``After meeting Margaret, I realized her passion for work and I wanted show that women have this bond as strong as men,’’ Kim said. ``I also thought it would mean something for Koreans active in the United States to work together for a film since there are so few.’’

``Two Sisters,’’ an independent film shot on the budget of about $ 4 million, will be submitted to film festivals and released on DVD soon.
