Phillyist Reviews: Girl in a Coma with Sia
Girl in a Coma were on tour with Sia to promote their latest album, Trio B.C. If you're just starting out, I highly recommend checking out their album Adventures in Coverland. It's just that. A bunch of really awesome covers. Songs like Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" and Joy Division's "Transmission" show the band's talent while remaining true to the songs. Whatever you do, check out Girl in a Coma. They are going places, kids. Sia did not disappoint. She performed some new songs off of her forthcoming
album, We Are Born, which is due out June. And did classics like "Breathe
Me" and "Soon We'll Be Found" that the audience loved.
Like Diaz's voice from Girl in a Coma, Sia's voice soars. So effortlessly
too. In true Sia fashion, her show wasn't without its quirkiness.
There was an onstage marriage proposal and a bubble machine attached
to Sia during the show's encore that showered the audience (especially
the front rows) with bubbles reminiscent of a children's playground.
