The Runaways, an upcoming Joan Jett biopic that wrapped filming just months ago, offers more than rocker chicks on stage shredding on guitars -- it explores the "close" relationship between Jett and Runaways vocalist Cherie Currie.

Their intimate connection is lived out on the silver screen by actresses Dakota Fanning (Currie) and Kristen Stewart (Jett) in what promises to be a steamy make out scene.

"Yes, it happens in The Runaways," Fanning confirmed to Access Hollywood. "It was passionate. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the 70’s," Fanning said. "We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters."

The Runaways will be released next year.
