Return to The Lashes

The Lashes ***
Get It
Red Ink/Columbia

On its debut, this Seattle sextet does ragged rock with equal amounts power-pop crunch and Anglo-infected romanticism. The tunes could use a little more Cheap Trick punch and less whine, but cuts like the hooky Elvis Costello rip "Daddy's Little Girl" deliver enough reckless flair and plaintive melodies to at least win the band a gig opening for Hot Hot Heat.
