Supersuckers Motherfuckers Be Trippin' (Mid-Fi) May 2003 When it comes to the sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll gospel, few preach with more fervor than punkabilly hellions the Supersuckers. On their subtly titled new record, they sound like the unholy collision of the Clash, AC/DC, and Merle Haggard as they barrel through songs about fighting, getting wasted, killing people, and, of course, rocking. For the most part they've left the tear-in-your-beer ballads at home, though "Pretty Fucked Up" is proof that even insane, drug-swilling louts have feelings. We think. —D.P. 4 Stars |
