Orgy
Punk Statik Paranoia
D1 Music

Even though it's been a few years since we last heard from Orgy, there is no evidence of rustiness here. Just as 2000's Vapor Transmissions went in a slightly darker and more aggressive direction than 1998's Candyass, Punk Statik Paranoia takes the band farther down the same path with beefed-up, effects-laden guitars and cyber-space synths layered with infectious pop grooves and androigynous vocals. Orgy's sound is an equal mix of glam, synth-pop, hair metal, goth rock, techno, and nu-metal and this cyber conglomeration has never been more apparent than on tracks like "Vague," "Leave Me Out" and "Inside My Head." While Punk Statik Paranoia isn't likely to convert anyone not already a fan of Orgy, it definitely proves that this band is capable of more than just a novelty cover song. And you can still dance to it.

Orgy will be on tour in April.
