Back to Pat McGee Band

Virginia Boys Take On The Big Apple

by Corinne Casella

Acoustic based singer/songwriter Pat McGee and his hardworking band of Brian Fechino, Chardy McEwan, Chris Williams, and John Small, known for their unrelenting touring schedule will be in the area Aug. 2 and 13 at Irving Plaza. Recently signed to Kirtland Records and performing on ESPN's "Cold Pizza" on Aug. 2, the group's hard work seems to finally be paying off.

The lyrically driven music is punctuated by a southern flair that is understated enough to meet the likings of even the most country phobic fans. McGee's songs are the kind that get under your skin without your permission and linger there. Their latest release Save Me is one that begs for a second and even a third listen to truly appreciate what the group is offering. Touring seems to be their specialty, with an average of 250 live dates a year. So, if they put half as much effort into their live performances as they do into their studio releases, youwill be in for a real class act.

Irving Plaza is located at 17 Irving Place, NYC. McGee and his friends will be supporting Vertical Horizon with openers Peppers Ghost. Tickets are respectively $23 in advance and $25 day of show
