Peppermint Continues To Delight On Screen With Her Star Turn in Season 2 of Peacock’s “The Traitors"

Her First-Ever Comedy Special “Peppermint: SO-SIGH-ETY Effects” and Netflix’s

“Survival of The Thickest”

Los Angeles, CA – December 2023 - Peppermint - the trailblazing actress, singer, reality star, and activist who continues to defy limitations is ready to dominate tv screens and more with a bevy of fun projects.

First up, is Peppermint’s inclusion in the highly anticipated second season of “The Traitors” hosted by Alan Cumming streaming on Peacock HERE in early 2024.  The Emmy-nominated series features a star-studded cast set in a remote castle deep in the Scottish Highlands, where 21 reality stars and other notable figures come together to compete in a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize of up to $250,000.

Her other star turn happened the day before the SAG/AFTRA strike came into play when comedian/actress Michelle Buteau’s hilarious new Netflix series, “Survival of the Thickest,” which Peppermint has a recurring guest star role in premiered over the summer.  Rolling Stone magazine named “Survival of the Thickest” one of the most anticipated shows of the summer, centering on Mavis Beaumont (Michelle Buteau). Black, plus-size and newly single (not by her choice!), Mavis unexpectedly finds herself having to rebuild her life as a struggling stylist. She’s determined to not only survive but thrive with the support of her chosen family, a body positive attitude, and a cute v-neck with some lip gloss. Peppermint, who portrays a social media influencer and owns the local drag restaurant plays the funny, super sassy and very caring “adopted” drag mother of Michelle’s. The scripted comedy is based on Buteau’s acclaimed book of essays.

Also, available now is Peppermint’s “SO-SIGH-ETY Effects” - her first-ever stand-up comedy special.  Follow Peppermint as she invites you on an all-inclusive journey through New York City to get a first-hand look at what it's like to be a single Black transgender woman in today's society. Peppermint invites you to cry and laugh with and at her as she tells tales of love and heartbreak from the stage to the bathroom stall — drawing audiences to one inevitable conclusion: "Hey, at least I don't have it that bad!"  In collaboration with Comedy Dynamics and Tribeca, Peppermint’s “SO-SIGH-ETY Effects” is available on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube, Vimeo, and cable providers worldwide.

Earlier this year, Peppermint took her turn on the stage live in Los Angeles at the Mark Taper Forum where she starred in A Transparent Musical  HERE. Peppermint originated the role of Davina in the musical that was first created by Alexandra Billings in the drama TV series.

Davina runs programming at the local Jewish Community Center and is the confidant of the lead character Maura.  From the creators of the hit Amazon series comes a groundbreaking and timely new musical that’s delightfully queer, unapologetically Jewish, and radically joyful. Welcome to the JCC!

Get ready for a remarkable theatrical experience with A Transparent Musical–an innovative and irresistible new musical comedy based on the hit Amazon Prime original TV show by Joey Soloway. Follow Ali Pfefferman, brought to life by Only Murders in the Building’s Adina Verson, as they navigate the ups and downs of self-discovery. Ali's Los Angeles Jewish family is filled with secrets, but when their parent, Maura, transitions to the transgender matriarch she always knew she was, the family is forced to confront their own identities and navigate their relationships with each other. Through a revelatory story of acceptance and self-expression, A Transparent Musical explores the intersection of Jewish and queer history while celebrating the imperfectly human aspects of a universally relatable family.

In addition, Peppermint released a special video tribute for her all-time favorite pop artist and icon Janet Jackson.  Peppermint’s dance tribute video of Janet Jackson's iconic song/video "Rhythm Nation” HERE was a labor of love as she re-created the video almost frame-for-frame with costuming and all.

“A lot of people only tune into the Super Bowl for the commercials and the halftime show, which allows us to celebrate some of the most accomplished musicians, Janet Jackson being one of them, so in observation of Janet Jackson Appreciation Day for her groundbreaking Super Bowl performance we decided to pay tribute to one of her most iconic music videos. I remember learning the dance moves to “Rhythm Nation” as a child and never really had the chance to perform it the way that I wanted, and putting together this tribute I've also allowed my imagination to come to life. In a time where politics and discrimination divide us, “Rhythm Nation” seems like the perfect song to bring back. The “Rhythm Nation” creed was music, dance, poetry and unity. In an interview Janet mentioned wanting to create a world where people are united by our passions for the Arts and not divided by racism and discrimination and colorism, so in an effort to erase the color lines Janet created the music video in black and white and all of the performers in a military, gender neutral appearance. Obviously, we wanted to pay tribute to that, but this time I wanted to make sure there were non-binary and trans performers in the mix.” – states Peppermint

The “Rhythm Nation” video is Peppermint’s second dance video tribute.  Last year, Peppermint released her version of Janet’s “If” HERE and had this to say - “Janet Jackson has always been an icon and I've always idolized her. Whether gathering High School football players as reluctant dancers, teaching the routine at a summer camp talent show or putting together some of my own shows, I have always modeled my live performances after Janet's but up until this moment most of those are just memories with nothing to show and no way to look back on. Now that I have the ability, I wanted to do those performances justice. I gathered a bunch of friends who are also big fans of Janet to put together a dance tribute video of "If" from her 1993 album: Janet.  Happy Birthday Miss Jackson!! – Peppermint

“If” caught the attention of Miss Janet herself with the icon posting her appreciation on her socials HERE
